Snow geese breed north of the timberline in Greenland,Canada, and Alaska. They winter in warm parts of North America, southwestern British Columbia and parts of the United States and Mexico. During this time of year tens-of-thousands of geese gather in rice and corn fields to bulk-up for their long return flight north. They spend more than half the year on their migration to-and-from warmer wintering areas.
