Morning Mist
Morning Mist painting is Marten Creek, a tributary of the McKenzie River. The creek is about 30 miles east of Eugene Oregon in the lower slopes of the Cascade Mountains. The McKenzie river basin is known for its clean water and excellent trout fishing.
In western Oregon, the suns rays are frequently accented by winter and spring morning mist, especially along forest lined streams such as Marten Creek. Deer, elk, bear, and numerous small mammals and birds live along Marten Creek. Great Blue Heron, Eagles , and Osprey can be observed searching for fish in the creek and the adjacent McKenzie River. Maidenhair ferns, calypso orchids, trilliums, and violets add an additional touch of beauty to the Martin Creek riparian area.
