Lion Statue

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAIn August 2013, I was commissioned by a family to restore a lion statue in West Linn Oregon. The 50 to 60 year old concrete statue decorated the front yard of a well known resident of West Linn Oregon.  The statue was donated to the City of West Linn in 2009 when a family member passed away.  The statue and plaque was placed in front of the West Linn Senior Center. However, over the years the statue was painted several times only to return to disrepair.  The original family had agreed to restore the statue as part of the donation to the city.
All the old flaking layers of paint was removed, a prime seal coat applied, and the physical damage repaired.  The Lion was painted to match the original colors.  The applied seal coat will protect the lion from UV rays and weathering for many years.
If you are in West Linn, you may want to visit “hal” the lion at 1180 Rosemont Road, West Linn Senior Center.
