The painting was commissioned by the Oregon Military Department in 2010. It will be hung in the Lane Reserves Center in Springfield Oregon. The four insert images are the Three Sisters Mountains, Shalie Falls, Earnest Covered Bridge. and a Bull Trout. Eagle Rock domnates the McKenzie River which is known for it’s “red side” trout.

Originating at the crest of the Cascade Mountains, the North Umpqua River is east of Roseburg Oregon, The River is renowned for its excellent Summer Steelhead, native trout, and Salmon fly fishing. The 32 miles of wild and scenic river begins about 15 miles east of Roseburg.

Ancient old growth Douglas fir/Western Hemlock forest and rock formations create scenic beauty unmatched in the region. The rivers crystal clear waters and 10 waterfalls make the North Unpqua River one of the premiere Wild and Scenic Rivers in the nation.
